Regulatory update on Chlorpropham (CIPC)

Under EU law, approvals for active substances can be granted for a maximum of 10 years, before a review has to take place. The review of CIPC is on-going and will be discussed at the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (SCoPAFF) on May 24-25, 2018. It is anticipated that a vote on CIPC will take place at the July SCoPAFF meeting. In the review, EFSA identified a number of data gaps related to consumer risk assessment for the  plant growth regulator use, leading to a critical area of concern.
